remembering: CORINTHIANS.

Starting as a trio in late 2004, Corinthians grabbed the local music scene by the balls with their excitable mix of post punk and abrasive pop noise; kicking pretty much any other of the local bands asses who were trying to play rock music. The groups style took influence from a range of genres, including noise and avant-garde, with their songs leaning towards an angular pop style. The band sounded more like a group signed to Dischord than a three piece coming from a town famous for it’s rugby and meat and potato pies.

They broke up in the summer of 2006 due to a personal dispute but issued a self-released posthumous album, which included all the singles, outtakes, instrumentals, a live radio interview and live tracks from their first gig and biggest gig, in front of 3000 at Haigh Hall in Wigan.
