All the way from Lyon, France, the spectacle that is Andre Duracell is something you would have never seen before or even imagined. The frenchman who has been hailed as ‘the one man Lightning Bolt’ plays only a drum kit fitted with drum triggers and a sythesizer. His minimalistic setup consists only of a bass drum, snare drum, floor tom, and ride cymbal, all of which are triggered to his synthesizer connected to a laptop. Everything Andre plays is live and his technique has been hailed as ‘a work of genius.’ WMC presents a rare chance to see him live - he rarely tours the UK - in such a small and intimate venue The Tudor. In his live show he often performs covers of old retro video games such as Space Harrier, Ninja Spirit and Turrican, but has also been known to cover the likes of Lightning Bolt and Aphex Twin. Feeding off the audiences reactions, he creates a show that is not only remarkably original, but euphoric and exciting. Check out Duracell in action below -
